Goodbye To A Tennessee Legend!

This year started off with a lot of uncertainty for Coach Fulmer's Vols, and rightfully so. The Vols lost several seniors last year, and they were left with a lot of new faces. The new offense looked rough after the first game, and never seemed to get any better. As the season progressed and Tennessee lost more games, and dropped to the bottom of the SEC, fans and alumni began to call for Coach Fulmer's dismissal. Well, a few weeks ago, they got their wish. Coach Fulmer announced he and Athletic Director Mike Hamilton agreed that he would not return to coach the Vols next year. I feel like this was done in VERY poor taste! The university should have waited until AFTER the season was over to make a decision. The decision to let Coach Fulmer go only caused a big distraction to the team and added a lot of unnecessary emotional stress on the Coach! I feel like Coach Fulmer should have been given another year to help the new players and the offense improve! You can't expect a new team to win a national championship in their first year! I am proud of the thousands of fans who turned out to give Coach Phillip Fulmer the send off he deserves! In my opinion, it will be very difficult to replace a man like Coach Phillip Fulmer! Coach, We will always remember what you have done for the University Of Tennessee! I wish you the best wherever you go from here!
